Copy and paste across your desktop
A floating clipboard manager for text and images
FloatBoard keeps copied content in an always-on-top workspace. Collect text and images, refer to them while you work, and use clipboard history to copy recent text again on Windows, macOS or Linux.
Build a copy and paste workspace
- Launch the app. Keep the floating board near the browser, document or editor you are working in.
- Collect useful content. Copy text from your source and paste it into FloatBoard. Add images or drag supported content into the board when you need a visual reference.
- Work with the reference in view. The always-on-top board stays visible as you switch to another application.
- Reuse copied text. Open clipboard history to find a recent text clip, copy it again and paste it into your destination app.
Clipboard history and visible notes serve different tasks
Clipboard history helps when you have copied several pieces of text and want to return to an earlier one. A floating board helps when you need to see a reference continuously, such as a code snippet, a list of links or a screenshot beside an editor.
FloatBoard brings those workflows into one desktop app. Keep the references for your current task on the board, and use recent clipboard history when you need to copy text again. For a note-focused workflow, see how to keep desktop notes always on top.
Example: collect references for a support reply
Suppose you need a product link, a short explanation and a screenshot to answer a question. Gather the text and image in FloatBoard while reading the source material, then keep the board beside your email or support tool.
You can refer to the screenshot while composing your answer and reuse the text you collected. Keeping those references together reduces the need to revisit several tabs just to find the same details.
